Trifold Template

The question comes up over and over again regarding how to properly set up a trifold on an 8 1/2 x 11 document. While the answer to this question is subjective, I created an InDesign template about a year ago for a client project that I have shared with numerous people, who have since told me it was quite beneficial to them.

I would like to share the template with you, and I would love to hear your feeback to know if it is indeed beneficial. Of course the tricky part of a trifold is the one short panel. In order for the folds to lay properly, one panel needs to be shorter than the rest, but you don’t want the difference to be discernable to the reader. You, therefore, want to be sure to have consistent margins around each panel.

If you would like to download the template, please find it here.

PLEASE NOTE: You must change the file extension from “.doc” to “.indt” after downloading!!
